Airtasker front and centre on global stage as VCARB F1 drivers tap community to design helmets

Special Report: Airtasker has gone full throttle with Visa Cash App Racing Bulls Formula  One team, giving its community the chance to design pit crew helmets for VCARB drivers that will debut in Qatar.

  • Airtasker community tapped by VCARB F1 team to design pit crew helmets
  • Assigned Tasker will design a helmet that will debut at Qatar Grand Prix
  • Marketplace shows it can scale from everyday tasks to global creative briefs

The partnership between Airtasker (ASX:ART) and Visa Cash App Racing Bulls Formula 1 team has shifted another gear.

What began as a brand alignment is now playing out in the pit lanes, with Airtasker’s creative community stepping directly into the world of elite motorsport.

This week, two of the sport’s stars, Visa Cash App Racing Bulls (VCARB) Formula One drivers Isack Hadjar and Liam Lawson posted a task on Airtasker calling for “big, bold and badass” ideas to design a pit crew helmet.

The catch is this wasn’t for the drivers themselves. It was for the team behind the scenes, the pit crew who keep the cars in tip-top shape on race day.

As the task went live on Airtasker under the title “Need Crazy and Creative Ideas for F1 Helmet”, Hadjar and Lawson set out exactly what they were after:

“The pit crew has been crushing it, and we want to find someone who can design a special edition helmet for them.

“Something wild, unforgettable and creative as a thank you gift they’ll never forget. They’re the heartbeat of everything we do, so we want to create something as legendary as they are.”

The final design will be unveiled in December at the 2025 Qatar Grand Prix, with the pit crew sporting the community-built helmets trackside.

More than mowing lawns

For Airtasker, this is a demonstration of versatility on an international level.

This is the same marketplace where people can book a Tasker to fix a leaky tap, build a flat-pack or do their taxes.

And now it’s proof the platform can just as easily deliver for world-class talent tapping into creative communities.

“It’s awesome to see VCARB Formula 1 drivers turning to Airtasker to find creative talent – it proves that anyone can get anything done on our platform,” said CEO Tim Fung.

This task, he said, captures what Airtasker is all about: celebrating skill and individuality that lead to amazing opportunities.

“It’s not every day that everyday people get the chance to leave their mark on the world of F1.

“Motorsport is driven by passion and precision – just like the Airtasker community – so whether you’re a designer, a racing fan or just someone with a wild idea, this is your moment.”

Proof of platform power

Having hundreds of creative submissions roll in for a high-profile task like this is exactly the kind of organic buzz that’s hard to buy.

It’s proof that Airtasker’s community model scales, with user engagement driving the platform into a living ecosystem rather than just a job board.

The task also highlights the calibre of customers Airtasker is attracting – tier-one global talent – and the skills within the community to match.

It also demonstrates the versatility of the marketplace, connecting world-class names like VCARB F1 drivers with creative communities in the same way everyday Australians connect with local Taskers.

More importantly, it proves Airtasker is more than just tasks.

It’s a scalable platform for creativity, innovation and collaboration, no matter the scale.

Hundreds of offers have poured in, an unusually high number that shows the brand is cutting through.

A global audience in the billions

Formula 1 is one of the fastest-growing sports, with a  global audience of 903 million.

Having VCARB drivers use Airtasker positions the company in front of vast new international audiences, extending its brand equity well beyond Australia.

So while the helmet brief might look like a flashy one-off, it’s also a window into Airtasker’s longer-term strategy: building awareness, tapping into culture, and proving its ability to scale globally.

And come December, when the pit crew step out in Qatar wearing helmets designed by a Tasker from the Airtasker community.
