Why are uranium hopefuls setting up in Wyoming? Why is Bill Gates opening his wallet up in that neck of the woods? and what does in-situ recovery mean?

GTI Energy (ASX:GTR) is currently developing the Lo Herma ISR uranium project in Wyoming’s Powder Basin. It’s a bustling neighbourhood for uranium explorers with Lo Herma just about 10 miles from the US’s largest ISR U3O8 production plant at Cameco’s Smith Ranch-Hyland, and ~60 miles from UEC’s Irigaray & Energy Fuels’ Reno Creek.

The company recently announced it will start drilling at Lo Herma this month to build on the project’s existing resource of 4.12Mt at an average grade of 630ppm U308 for 5.71Mlbs. The exploration target at Lo Herma is currently sitting at 5.32-6.65Mt @ 500-700ppm U3O8.

Stockhead’s Sarah Hughan sits down with GTI Energy executive director and CEO Bruce Lane to get the straight facts on the shape to come at one of uranium’s busiest neighbourhoods.
