Who’s Who with Petratherm: Positioned for district-scale titanium discovery in South Australia
In this latest episode of Who’s Who on the ASX, host Tylah Tully profiles Petratherm (ASX:PTR), an emerging player in critical minerals and copper-gold exploration.
The company is building a portfolio of globally significant projects in South Australia, led by a highly experienced board that includes geologist Derek Carter, discoverer of the Prominent Hill copper-gold deposit, CEO Peter Reid, and exploration manager Barry van der Stelt, both of whom were part of the original Prominent Hill discovery team.
Petratherm’s flagship Muckanippie Project in the northern Gawler Craton is shaping into a district-scale titanium discovery.
Phase Two drilling expanded mineralisation across more than 20 square kilometres, with geology comparable to South Africa’s Bushveld Complex.
Three styles of titanium mineralisation have been defined, including ilmenite-rich clays and high-grade heavy mineral sands at the Rosewood Prospect. Intercepts averaging 12 metres at 8% heavy minerals highlight the project’s scale and near-surface potential.
