Brazilian explorer Meteoric Resources (ASX:MEI) has increased the resource estimate at its Caldeira ionic clay rare earths project to more than 1 billion tonnes.

This increase marks a 50% upgrade, graded at 2,413ppm TREO.

Managing director Stuart Gale says the increased resource demonstrates the Tier 1 status of the project.
