StockTake: Altech to sell sodium nickel batteries through AMPower deal

Host Tylah Tully unpacks the latest from Altech Batteries (ASX:ATC), which has teamed up with major Chinese battery producer AMPower – a subsidiary of the Chilwee Group, China’s third largest e-mobility battery manufacturer.

The deal will see Sodium Nickel Chloride (SNC) batteries sold in Europe, Australia and the USA, helping Altech fast track its entry into the grid battery market.

AMPower currently produces conventional zebra design SNC batteries for the small Uninterrupted Power Supply and Altech’s batteries are currently designed for high performance energy storage systems.

Under the partnership, both parties will distribute a co-developed product under their own brand.
