StockTake: Altech flexes impressively reliable battery tech
Host Tylah Tully looks at data released by Altech Batteries (ASX:ATC) demonstrating the outstanding reliability of its sodium-nickel-chloride batteries for uninterruptible power supply systems.
Field data from more than two decades of use in South Africa’s telecom and UPS sectors shows an exceptionally low failure rate of just 0.6%-1.5%, compared to similar technologies with failure rates of 3%-5% for lithium batteries, 8%-12% for lead-acid, and 2%-4% for nickel-cadmium.
