Stockhead’s Ashtyn Hiron sits down with Corella Resources (ASX:CR9) CEO Jess Maddren to get the short end of the long story on the company’s Tampu high purity alumina (HPA) project.

A recent scoping study highlighted two attractive development scenarios; a 200,000tpa kaolin option with a net present value (NPV) of $1.18bn and a whopping 78.8% internal rate of return (IRR), and 40,000tpa HPA option with a $4.62bn NPV and a 53.8% IRR.

While it’s still early days, Tampu has a kaolin resource of 24.7Mt, half of which is suitable as HPA feedstock that could one day power smartphones, LEDs and lithium-ion batteries.

Tune in to hear Jess Maddren on the Tampu scoping study and what’s next for the monster project.
