Drilling will intensify in 2022, with follow-up programs planned at Wilsons North, Snook, Sulphide City and untested targets surrounding Sulphide City.
More massive copper-zinc sulphides have been hit at both the Wilsons North and Snook prospects within Zenith Minerals’ Develin Creek copper-zinc project in Queensland.
The first hole of the program at Wilsons North intersected 2m of massive copper sulphides returning 0.8% copper, with follow-up holes intersecting a total of 7m of massive to semi-massive sulphides.
Meanwhile at Snook…
Meanwhile at Snook, drilling has extended the mineralised footprint to a length of 150m, and new 1m assays for hole 017 have been returned, demonstrating high tenor results of 2m at 2% copper, 3.4% zinc, 0.6% lead, 77 g/t silver, and 0.6 g/t gold.
Results at Sulphide City continue to intersect wide, high-grade massive copper-zinc sulphides with hits of up to 12m at 2.6% copper, 5.2% zinc, 73 g/t silver and 1.4 g/t gold.
Zenith (ASX:ZNC) says around 46 holes have been completed, with assays for a remaining 17 holes.
“A great success”
Speaking to the latest drilling, ZNC chief executive officer Michael Clifford said discovering a new zone of massive copper sulphide at the Wilsons North prospect and extending the strike of the high-tenor massive copper-zinc zone at Snook is a “great success.”
“Both mineralised zones remain open ended and will be the subject of follow-up drilling programs in the first calendar quarter 2022,” he said.
Although drilling was unable to complete the twin hole program and Sulphide City resource drilling due to flooding, Clifford said he looks forward to getting the drill rigs back again next year to follow up.
Next steps
Drilling will resume in the first calendar quarter 2022, with follow-up programs planned at Wilsons North, Snook, Sulphide City and targets surrounding Sulphide City that have not yet been tested.
The resource update drill program will be completed as a priority before moving on to the more regional prospects.
