Youanmi could be the golden ticket for Rox Resources

Special Report: Rox Resources has picked up the scent of further high grade gold — just north of Spectrum’s historic Penny West mine.

Recent geochemical studies by Rox Resources (ASX:RXL) and its Youanmi projects JV partner show that many of the high-grade gold hits at Currans North are associated with anomalous lead, zinc and copper.

This association with base metals – particularly lead – has also been reported by Spectrum Metals (ASX:SPX) at the neighbouring Penny West mine.

The JV noted that the aircore drilling results appear to be comparable to initial historic drilling that led to the discovery of Penny West.

Given this association, the discovery of gold, lead, zinc and copper anomalies along strike from the Penny West mine and less than 2km east of Currans Find North could be a pathfinder to a big discovery at the Youanmi project.

The JV has also completed a follow-up drilling program on high priority targets that were identified by this last campaign and results are expected soon.

Last month, Rox hit 12m at 12.7 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from 80m, 12m at 8.5g/t from 44m and 4m at 11.2g/t from 110m at the Youanmi South prospect.

High-grade gold is anything over about 5g/t.

Drilling at the Plant Zone prospect also continues to define shallow, potential base-load mill feed with results including 4m at 5.6g/t gold from 24m, 30m at 1g/t gold from 96m and 14m at 1.7g/t gold from 70m.

Youanmi already has a resource of 12.4 million tonnes at 2.97g/t gold for 1.19 million ounces of contained gold. The project also includes a mothballed gold processing facility capable of handling 600,000t of ore per annum.
