The Unicorns Podcast connects you to some of the best and brightest founders, CEOs, executives, business owners, innovators, entrepreneurs and inspiring leaders who make things happen and inspire others.

Host Justin Kelly, former broadcast journalist and PR veteran, chats with leaders from across Australia and internationally on business strategy; what it takes to build a successful company; how to overcome challenges, and advice for those on a similar journey.

In this episode, Justin talks with Andrew Sparke, managing director of QMines (ASX:QML), which is working quickly towards bringing its advanced Mt Chalmers copper project in Queensland back into production. Q Mines is listed on the ASX as QML.

QMines this week released the positive results of a pit optimisation study that confirmed the potential for a robust open pit mining operation and places the company on the fast track to a prefeasibility study.

The historic Mt Chalmers was mined sporadically between 1898 and 1982, producing 1.24 million tonnes of high-grade copper, gold and silver.

In just 18 months, QMines has delivered four resources, including 88% in the higher confidence Measured and Indicated categories.

In this episode Andrew discusses the positive results of the pit optimisation study, the potential for multiple repeats of the Mt Chalmers deposit, the upcoming PFS and the significant growth expected in the copper market.
