Kingston Resources recently struck a $95 million agreement to sell its Misima gold project to mining heavyweight Ok Tedi and now mid-tier producer St Barbara is set to take a substantial stake in Geopacific Resources (ASX:GPR).
Not far from Misima, Geopacific is advancing its flagship Woodlark Gold Project – and its new relationship with the operator of the nearby Simberi gold mine is expected to accelerate progress. A Definitive Feasibility Study for Woodlark is slated for release by year’s end, while Geopacific plans to start the drills this month with the aim to grow the current 1.67Moz resource.
