• Torque Metals completes infill and extensional diamond drilling at Paris gold project
  • Samples from the five hole program now at laboratory with assays expected in late August
  • Company now fine tuning planned 7000m RC drill program targeting the Paris and HHH gold systems

Special Report: Torque Metals has wrapped up another phase of diamond drilling at its Paris gold project in WA’s Goldfields region that was aimed at infilling and extending existing gold lodes ahead of a maiden resource estimate.

The 1106m of diamond drilling of four holes at the Paris prospect and one hole at the HHH hole was also carried out to obtain structural, geotechnical and density information.

Core samples from the drilling, which was carried out by contractor Topdrill under a drill for equity agreement that allows the company to satisfy up to 50% of the costs – to a cap of $1m – through the issue of new shares, are now at the laboratory with assays expected in late August.

Torque Metals (ASX:TOR) Paris project is a shallow, high-grade, high-recovery (>96%) gold project located close to processing infrastructure and surrounded by producers such as Goldfields, Westgold and Northern Star among others.

Previous drilling returned notable intersections such as 5m grading 14.12g/t gold from a down-hole depth of 157.85m and 41m at 5.93g/t gold from 188m, proving that the project hosts a large gold camp.

Assays of up to 16m at 4.19g/t gold from 66m at the previously untested 1.5km gap – the Eva discovery – between the HHH and Paris pits is also indicative that the two pits are connected.

“Torque has successfully completed its next 1,106 metres of diamond drilling at its Paris gold project, targeting both infill and extension of high-grade mineralisation. Core samples are now at the laboratory, with assay results anticipated within the next few weeks,” managing director Cristian Moreno said.

Further drilling

TOR is currently preparing to carry out a complementary reverse circulation drill program totalling some 7000m to test the Paris and HHH gold systems.

These zones have already demonstrated strong potential, with previous drilling intersecting significant mineralisation.

Moreno noted that the company is currently optimising the planned drilling and that its results will build on an enhanced Paris gold resource.

“Concurrently, soil sampling is underway across previously unexplored targets, outside of the MRE zone, with results expected by mid-September,” he added.
