Drilling at GTI’s Thor ISR Uranium project continues to exceed expectations with nearly half the holes bettering the targeted economic cut-off thickness.

Of the 39 holes completed to date – including the latest batch of 15 holes drilled last week, 19 holes have met or exceeded the minimum Grade Thickness (GT) cutoff of 0.2GT with an average of 0.6GT.

Encouragingly for GTI Resources (ASX:GTR), mineralisation intersected to date continues to demonstrate characteristics conducive for in-situ recovery of uranium.

“Results from the first batch of drill holes at Thor have exceeded our expectations,” executive director Bruce Lane noted.

“The mineralisation encountered so far shows strong potential for development with a well mineralised and consistent thickness of ISR amendable sands starting at around 100 feet below the water table.

“We’re delighted with the performance of the geological team and the drill crew in Wyoming, and we look forward to more good results after the Christmas break.”

Thor drilling

Drilling is now completed in the initial zones to the northeast and to the southeast.

The results demonstrate there are at least three separate roll fronts present in the main host sand with additional sands positioned above and below the main sand unit showing at least trace mineralisation.

This program is aimed at identifying REDOX boundaries and potential host sands in addition to defining the depth, thickness, grade and width of mineralisation across the REDOX front.
