There’s more silica sand coming at Suvo’s Nova project

Less than a month has passed since Suvo unleashed a maiden resource for its Nova project in Western Australia and a potential upgrade could already be in the works.

This follows the completion of the 2,559m extension and infill drill program that was also designed to produce bulk metallurgical test samples.

Suvo Strategic Minerals (ASX:SUV) had released a 216 million tonne Inferred Resource in October that featured very low levels of deleterious elements – making it suitable for glass-making – and substantial quantities of higher value silica flour and coarse silica sand.

Metallurgical test work has now started to produce samples for immediate shipment to potential offtake partners and clients.

Definition of the flow sheet and production development is also underway.

Drill program

The extension and infill program was intended to infill and extend the mineralisation to the north and south of the current resource.

It was undertaken on existing tracks of the tenure, which are extensive, owing to the significant electrical transmission and gas pipeline infrastructure in the area.

The holes were drilled to a depth of about 30m as previous shallower drilling had predominantly ended in mineralisation.
