TG Metals completes Gold City drilling as third rig heads to Van Uden

  • TG Metals completes Gold City drilling program with 152 samples sent to laboratory for testing
  • Third drilling rig secured for Van Uden operations starting mid-October to enable deeper holes
  • Infill soil sampling underway at Gold City ahead of wet weather season forecast

Special Report: TG Metals has wrapped up drilling at the Gold City project in WA and is ramping up resource extension drilling at Van Uden with a third rig secured to start operations in mid-October.

Drilling at Gold City was prioritised prior to the anticipated arrival of wet weather with the company completing the initial program of seven reverse circulation holes totalling 606m without incident and with targeted zones intercepted.

TG Metals (ASX:TG6) has dispatched 152 composite samples to the laboratory for gold assaying and will use a Televiewer for downhole surveying of the completed drill holes to record structural and other hole wall information to assist with mineralisation interpretation.

At Van Uden, about 20km to the north, extensional drilling of shallow holes is continuing though a RC rig with capability for deeper drilling will arrive in mid-October to take over from the existing RC rig and commence drilling deeper holes.

Site water has also been secured by installation of a downhole pump on an historical bore. This will supply water for the next phase of diamond core drilling and for dust suppression.

“We are moving ahead in leaps and bounds having secured a deeper RC rig to enable continuous drilling operations through October and into November,” chief executive officer David Selfe said.

“First drill samples are in the laboratory and we look forward to receiving and reporting the first drilling results as soon as they come to hand.

“Tackling exploration at both Van Uden and Gold City simultaneously allows flexibility of drilling sites and achieves our aim to advance both gold projects before year end.”

Gold projects

Gold City is a single exploration licence with numerous, recently identified gold in soil anomalies associated with a magnetic high that may represent an ultramafic contact.

The company has started a program of infill soil sampling to get ahead of the predicted wet weather forecast.

This follows-up on soil sampling results reported to the market in August 2025 and is intended to improve the anomaly definitions ahead of the next phase of drill planning.

TG6 has also made additional Program of Work applications for drilling on the Van Uden shear to test additional gold in soil anomalies.

Drill pad preparation is underway for the deeper planned drill holes ahead of the arrival of the larger drill rig.

Planning for drilling on the infill soil sampling will begin on return of soil sampling results.
