Sulphide City’s high-grade copper-zinc hits exactly what QMines targeted

- QMines’ high-grade copper-zinc intersections confirm resource continuity at the Sulphide City deposit
- Standout result is a 4m zone at 6.79% CuEq from 125m within a broader mineralised intersection
- 32 drill holes completed with 15 awaiting assays while rig prepares to drill deeper diamond tails
Special Report: QMines’ confidence in resource continuity at the Sulphide City deposit within its Develin Creek project in Queensland continues to build after drilling delivered more high-grade copper and zinc intersections.
The newest assays from the ongoing drill program provided further broad, high-grade intersections that confirmed excellent continuity of mineralisation.
Standout results include:
- 4m grading 6.79% copper equivalent (CuEq) from a down-hole depth of 125m within 25m at 1.51% CuEq from 104m
- 7m at 2.71% CuEq from 59m within 44m at 1.41% from 59m
- 20m at 1.74% CuEq from 177m within 65m at 0.9%
The results also continue to extend mineralisation beyond historical drilling, which supports near-term resource growth and mine planning.
QMines (ASX:QML) notes that having multiple rigs on site allows for significant momentum with 32 reverse circulation holes totalling 6643m now complete with a further 15 holes at the laboratory awaiting assays.

“These latest results from Sulphide City are exactly what we want to see — thick, continuous zones of high-grade copper and zinc, in line with historical intercepts,” executive chairman Andrew Sparke said.
“Every round of assays adds to our confidence that Develin Creek is shaping into a cornerstone asset in QMines’ growing production pipeline.”
The results strengthen the company’s strategy of blending Develin Creek feed with Mt Chalmers and Mt Mackenzie to support the vision for a 2Mtpa, long-life, multi-asset copper-gold-zinc operation in central Queensland.

Develin Creek
The Develin Creek project comprises several volcanic associated massive sulphide copper-zinc deposits within the Rookwood Volcanics.
It currently has a resource of 4.13Mt at 1.01% copper, 1.16% zinc, 0.15g/t gold and 6g/t silver across the Scorpion and Sulphide City deposits.
Adding interest, 44% of the resource is contained within the higher confidence indicated category that has enough geological certainty for mine planning.
Results from drilling at Sulphide City has continued to highlight massive and semi-massive sulphide mineralisation consistent with historical drilling results by previous operators.
It also follows on the company noting in late June that blending ore from Develin Creek and Mt Chalmers resulted in improved metallurgical recoveries, a finding that bodes very well for its strategy.
This also led the company to believe it would be able to recover and sell all metals included in its CuEq calculation.

QML is now drilling several diamond tails in key drill holes to better understand the geometry of the semi-massive and massive sulphide mineralisation at Sulphide City.
The diamond rig is currently onsite and drilling the first hole in the diamond tail program.
