Special Report: Maiden RC drilling at Sipa Resources’ Nuckulla Hill gold project in South Australia has intersected hefty widths and gold grades, indicating very good signs of large discovery potential.
The campaign completed seven holes for 1022m at the Sheoak prospect – one of several underexplored historical gold prospects in the Nuckulla Hill asset area – hosted within the large Yarlbrinda Shear.
Multiple +1g/t gold intercepts were delivered, along with several high-grade results, such as a standout 16m at 5.6g/t gold from 68m in hole NHRC022, including 4m at 16.2g/t and 4m at 4.4g/t.
The drilling followed up the historical 1990’s RAB, aircore and RC drilling undertaken by previous explorers, defining higher-grade zones within a much broader overall zone of gold anomalism.
Sipa Resources (ASX:SRI) believes the result in NHRC022 has expanded mineralisation by at least 50m to the northwest, open at depth and along strike.
Of particular significance is the fact the high gold grades seen in NHRC022 do not have any gold grades of note in the overlying historical RAB drilling. This implies some of the historical drilling, particularly the shallower holes, may not have been an effective test for gold mineralisation.
The company noted this could mean the opening up of large areas “that may previously have been considered sterilised”.

Bimba drilling results
Meanwhile, another six holes for 662m were carried out the Bimba prospect. While no +1g/t gold results were returned there, broad zones of 0.5g/t gold were delivered from the four-metre composite samples.
Sipa said the results at Bimba are significant in the broader context of the Nuckulla Hill project and Yarlbrinda Shear, revealing the presence of broad anomalous gold zones.
The explorer suspects the mineralisation at Bimba may trend NW-SE, a direction not adequately tested in this drilling phase.
Upcoming follow-up program
Sipa managing director Andrew Muir said follow-up drilling at Nuckulla Hill will begin shortly as part of the aircore program that will also test the company’s nearby Tunkillia North project.
The aircore rig is due on site at Tunkillia North and Nuckulla Hill in the coming week.
This program will follow up on recent RC drilling at Nuckulla Hill, test the significant Tunkillia North gold-in-calcrete anomaly – comparable in scale to the Tunkillia discovery – and revisit historic drill results at Arcoordaby.
It will consist of 4000 to 5000m of aircore drilling, as well as a select number of RC holes to test deeper targets.
One-metre resamples from drilling will be collected in the coming weeks and submitted for gold analysis, which will give greater clarity on the gold distribution, with results expected four to six weeks after submission.
Sipa is also planning soil sampling over several earlier-stage and more regional targets in the coming months to identify areas for follow-up drill testing.
