Special Report: Drilling has identified the potential to repeat the high-grade gold mineralisation within the hanging walls of Saturn’s Apollo Hill project.

First results from Saturn Metals’ (ASX:STN) 2020 drill program to grow and improve its 781,000oz resource at the Apollo Hill project just 60km from Leonora, Western Australia, have returned the best results so far.

Drilling to expand and improve the recently discovered high-grade hanging wall zone returned a top intersection of 8m grading 12.9 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from 126m within a broader zone of 14m at 7.75g/t gold from 120m.

Results above 5g/t gold are generally considered to be high-grade.

To top it off, the same hole returned a shallow hit of 5m at 8.03g/t gold from 111m.

Not only do the new intersections sit outside but adjacent to the current resource, they also provide evidence of the repeatability of high-grade mineralisation in the Apollo Hill hanging walls.

And they provide an important vector for further discoveries, with several high-grade stacked lodes now interpreted, which supports the company’s belief that there is multi-million-ounce potential in the wider gold system.

Mineralisation at Apollo Hill remains open in multiple directions, which means there is potential for more high-grade results.

“These excellent results have provided strong evidence of the repeatability of high-grade mineralisation in this thick mineralised corridor,” managing director Ian Bamborough said.

“Drilling continues with two rigs focused on follow-up drilling around this important zone and several assays are pending.

“We look forward to the ongoing results flow and to including the new information into our next resource update currently scheduled for mid-2020.”
