• Mithril’s channel sampling at Copalquin returns up to 736g/t silver and 8.99g/t gold
  • Results add to the geologic and resource modelling work at the Target 1 area
  • Mapping and sampling continuing in areas adjacent to Target 1 area

Special Report: Channel sampling results of up to 736g/t silver and 8.99g/t gold add to Mithril Silver and Gold’s expansion of the highly prospective Target 1 within its Copalquin project in Mexico.

The channel sampling of the Lumbrera Vein, Soledad Level 1 and 2 within Target 1 as well as El Cometa returned consistently high-grade results with one of the top channel assays of 2m at 8.99g/t gold and 736g/t originating from Soledad Level 1.

Importantly for Mithril Silver and Gold (ASX:MTH) the sampling results will aid future exploration at the project.

Already, the successful resource expansion drilling to date serves to prove its goal of doubling the size of the ~529,000oz gold equivalent maiden resource at Target 1, is well within reach.

The broader Copalquin project is home to 100 historical underground gold-silver mines and workings plus 198 surface workings/pits throughout its 70km2 area.

Further successes will confirm Copalquin as another significant gold-silver district like the many other districts in Mexico’s prolific Sierra Madre Gold-Silver Trend, which hosts multiple fields containing 1-5Moz of gold and 50-100Moz silver or more.

Modelling work for Target 1 enhanced

“The channel sampling results provide assay (geochemical) data for the various mapped structures/veins within the remnant wall rock of the historic workings,” managing director John Skeet said.

“Together with the mapping data, they add to the geologic and resource modelling work at the Target 1 area. The La Soledad ‘ore shoot’ historically produced significant high-grade production and this data, together with future spectral work, will assist in locating new ore shoots.

“Mapping and sampling work continues in areas adjacent to the Target 1 area with programs scheduled for the high-priority drill target areas of La Brujas-El Peru and at the La Constancia area.

“These two areas have resource potential at least similar to the Target 1 area.”

MTH adds that drilling has been progressing in this area with a total of 9000m to be completed by the end of this year ahead of a planned resource update for Target 1.
