Resolution Minerals’ new Lead Geologist is ex-Perpetua Resources

  • Resolution Minerals appoints Austin Zinsser as lead consulting geologist to drive Horse Heaven exploration and development
  • Zinsser has over 15 years of experience including 12 years at Perpetua’s $2bn Stibnite Antimony-Gold Project directly adjacent to Horse Heaven
  • Zinsser incentivised with 12-month performance options with exercise prices as high as $0.30
  • Company is looking to fast-track approvals under the US FAST-41 framework as well as explore US GOVT DOD funding

Special Report: Resolution Minerals has appointed Austin Zinsser as the lead consulting geologist to support exploration and development of its Horse Heaven antimony-gold-silver-tungsten project in Idaho.

Zinsser has more than 15 years’ experience in applied geological and environmental science and mineral project development.

He served as the senior resource geologist and in exploration and development roles on Nasdaq-listed Perpetua Resources’ Stibnite project, which is adjacent to Horse Heaven, for 12 years. This has given him a keen understanding of the unique and varied geology of the Yellow Pine mining district. Perpetua Resources (PPTA.NAS) has a market cap of A$2 billion and boasts a reserve of 148 million pounds of Antimony.

He is also familiar with Resolution Minerals (ASX:RML) Horse Heaven project as he had worked as a consulting geologist since 2022 to Stallion Gold, the project’s previous operator.

“The Horse Heaven project reminds me of where Perpetua’s Stibnite project was when I joined them, and I look forward to assisting Resolution in advancing Horse Heaven to become a major player in the critical minerals space,” Zinsser said.

“I firmly believe the Horse Heaven asset has huge potential for an economically and strategically significant discovery.

“The structural controls on mineralisation and overprinting relations mirror those at Stibnite, showing early hallmarks of becoming a major deposit.

“Antimony and tungsten are mission-critical to America’s security and the US is waking up to the urgent need for domestic supply.

“Horse Heaven sits at the heart of this strategic shift – and I’m excited to join the team as we fast-track development and position the project to unlock significant value.”

Horse Heaven background

The 5644 hectare Horse Heaven project hosts a number of historical antimony, tungsten and gold mines and has strong gold, antimony and silver mineralisation in the Antimony Ridge Fault Zone (ARFZ) and the Golden Gate Fault Zone (GGFZ) prospects.

Past rock chip results include up to 5.99g/t gold, 367g/t silver and 19.15% antimony, with drilling returning up to 1.459g/t gold.

It is also eligible for fast-tracking under President Trump’s FAST-41 program, which, in April saw the neighbouring Stibnite project fast-tracked for approval and then obtaining final approval to be re-opened on May 19, 2025.

Additionally, Horse Heaven could be eligible for awards similar to the US$74m in grants that Perpetua received from the US Department of Defense to advance Stibnite thanks to antimony being a critical mineral and President Donald Trump declaring a national emergency in critical mineral supply.

RML has engaged Clewett Global Services’ Todd Clewett to support its engagement with US federal agencies and expedite approvals for Horse Heaven under the FAST-41 framework and explore the US DoD funding opportunities.

NATO to increase Defence spending to $13.4 trillion ( 150% increase )

In a further boost to demand for defence and war metals, NATO’s leaders agreed last week to more than double their countries’ defence spending to 5% of their gross domestic product (GDP) by 2035. NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte called it a “quantum leap” in spending that would guarantee “freedom and security” for the military alliance’s one billion people. This would equate to a total of US$13.4 trillion in military expenditure by NATO by 2030 (compared to US$1.5 trillion NATO spent last year).
