Special Report: RareX and its Canadian partner Kincora Copper have intersected the broadest copper and gold interval to date at their Trundle project in NSW.

Assays for the diamond hole returned a 87.7m interval grading 0.65 grams per tonne (g/t) gold and 0.19 per cent copper from surface including a top hit of 8m at 1.64g/t gold and 0.57 per cent copper along with a deeper interval of 19m at 0.43g/t gold and 0.21 per cent copper from 388m.

RareX (ASX:REE) and Kincora Copper have also had their geological understanding of the Trundle Park prospect improved by ongoing drilling and relogging.

This work has also highlighted vectors for at/near surface skarn mineralisation along with the potential for a large, related porphyry intrusion system.

Meanwhile, assays from drilling at the Mordialloc prospect returned extensive anomalous copper, gold and molybdenum intervals that further indicate that it might be a significant mineralised porphyry system though the possible higher-grade core has not been located by the relatively limited drilling to date.

Further work

Deeper drilling is ongoing at Trundle Park to test the potential for a larger, causative porphyry intrusion system.

The partners have also proposed to carry out further drilling at Mordialloc to test the targeted finger porphyry setting and potential clustering of associated mineralised systems across a significant strike where anomalous surface and end-of-hole geochemistry, and geophysics are complementary.

This approach is similar to that used to discover the Cadia-Ridgeway, the majority of the Northparkes deposits, and Alkane Resources’ recent Boda discovery.

Kincora has a 65 per cent interest in Trundle, which it secured in return for an upfront payment and a free carry on exploration for RareX’s remaining 35 per cent stake.

Trundle was previously held by Newcrest and HPX but was relatively untested prior to Kincora’s entry with just 11 historic holes, or 0.5 per cent of holes drilled, going below 300m.
