Special report: Prodigy Gold has completed a small six-hole drilling program at the Tregony deposit as part of a broader 28-hole RC campaign in the Northern Territory.
Prodigy Gold (ASX:PRX) has been focusing its exploration efforts on both the Tregony and Hyperion deposits within the wider Tanami North asset area in the NT this year.
The project sits on the Suplejack Shear Zone (SSZ), which hosts several known gold mineral resources such as the Tanami Gold and Northern Star Resources’ (ASX:NST) joint venture Groundrush and Ripcord deposits.
A recent 1,770m program at the 8.6Mt Hyperion deposit returned a stand-out hit of 10m at 15.9g/t gold, creating a buzz among investors ahead of a planned resource upgrade and with further drilling planned for the 2025 field season.
PRX has now received further encouraging results from Tregony North comprising:
The holes were designed to target an area that showed potential to grow the 1.6Mt at 1.3g/t gold for 64,000oz resource, using a cut-off grade of 0.6g/t gold.
All six holes targeted mineralisation identified by earlier aircore holes, which could not be included in the estimation process but whose results supported the resource update.
PRX managing director Mark Edwards said while it was only a small program, the explorer looks forward to keeping shareholders informed on how these new holes will assist with the growth of its resource base.
Tregony and Hyperion are key pillars of Prodigy’s project portfolio and are at the heart of the company’s current exploration activities, with a focus on resource development and brownfields exploration around these deposits.
“While the results of the holes drilled at both Brokenwood and Pandora don’t have high grade intercepts, the geology identified has helped with our understanding of these prospects,” Edwards said said.
“With additional geological information from planned costeaning and a more thorough review of the holes completed over the past two years, further drilling could be designed for completion in the 2025 field season.
“Both projects are only in the early stages of exploration and some of the results identified suggest there is potential for discovery.”
