- Widespread copper-gold anomalism in bands up to 25m wide
- Extensive exploration across the Belleterre is underway
Special Report: Field surveys by Pivotal Metals have confirmed the existence of a promising new area of elevated copper and gold mineralisation within the Lorraine project, part of Pivotal Metals’ Belleterre portfolio in Canada.
A copper-gold zone has been identified at Kelly Lake East prospect, 6.6km southeast of the company’s historical Lorraine mine and core project area.
Trench sampling shows several anomalous bands of elevated copper and gold up to 25 metres wide, with outcrop samples grading up to 1.9g/t Au, 2% Cu and 0.71% zinc.
Pivotal Metals (ASX:PVT) says the high-grade zone appears to extend across the project boundary with eastern neighbour Vior Inc, where grab samples assayed up to 4.1% Cu and 2.1g/t Au on the neighbouring tenure.
The Lorraine project sits within the larger Belleterre project portfolio in northwestern Quebec, Canada.
The Belleterre greenstone belt is home to several high-grade and near-surface magmatic sulphide and copper-associated quartz veins and shear-hosted gold targets, including the past-producing Lorraine mine.
The region enjoys ready access to world-class infrastructure, including access to clean, low-cost hydropower and high levels of milling capacity within 100km.

Pivotal Metals managing director Ivan Fairhall said the field team had confirmed the presence of an expansive and highly prospective copper-gold target at Kelly Lake East, underscoring the scope of the opportunity within the larger Belleterre exploration program.
“The presence of wide gold-copper anomalous zones and untested VTEM anomalies support the high prospectivity of this emerging target area,” he said.
“Importantly, the mineralised system continues directly across our eastern boundary with neighbour Vior Inc, who are completing a 100,000m drill program building out their high-grade Belleterre gold project.”
The new mineralised system is underexplored for the most part, with only limited historical drilling sub-parallel to the mineralised trend orientation.
PVT has identified several versatile time domain electromagnetic (VTEM) conductors with geophysical surveys over the tenure, which point to a 1km by 1.5km target area.
The company will investigate the new prospect with outcrop and soil sampling and geophysical surveys in the second quarter of 2026 to refine targets for drill testing.
In the meantime, Pivotal will complete several geophysical surveys over the wider Lorraine project before moving on to cover the nearby Alotta, Midrim and Lac Croche areas.
At Lorraine, PVT will also use an induced polarisation survey to refine the high-grade gold system at the historical Lorraine mine.
In parallel, Pivotal will investigate four high-priority targets with a drilling program scheduled for January 2026.
