Special Report: Three distinct mineralised corridors have been identified along separate pegmatite trends at Perpetual Resources’ Isabella asset in Brazil’s Lithium Valley following final assay results from its maiden exploration program.
The program has delivered ultra high-grade spodumene of up to 6.8% Li2O and has confirmed widespread anomalies across reginal-scale pegmatite trends, less than 10km from Atlas Lithium’s Das Neves mine and processing plant in Minas Gerais, Brazil.
A number of these trends extend over 1km with regional interpretation confirming potential extensions of up to 3km when extrapolated at both ends.
Perpetual Resources’ (ASX:PEC) in-country team is currently on site conducting follow-up sampling and reconnaissance work in a bid to unlock the broad regional spodumene potential and test new high-priority targets.
The company believes this work marks Isabella as a ‘new high-grade spodumene discovery’ near major advanced-stage spodumene development projects including Sigma Lithium’s Sao Jose project.
So far, initial mapping suggests there’s potential for ‘parallel and/or stacked’ pegmatite formations, which means there could be possible repetitions – which in turn enhances the potential to scale up the project big time.
In just a few months, the company has expanded on initial reconnaissance findings and confirmed spodumene mineralisation in multiple locations with clear potential for additional growth.
The presence of multiple additional targets, nearby to known high-grade lithium mineralisation already discovered, reinforces Perpetual’s confidence that potential exists for additional linkages within this pegmatite system at depth.
“These final assay results highlight Isabella’s status as one of the most exciting emerging projects in Brazil’s Lithium Valley,” PEC exploration manager Allan Stephens said.
“As we continue refining our understanding of the area, this optionality provides significant flexibility and numerous drilling opportunities.
“Strategically located near advanced spodumene development projects, Isabella holds remarkable promise as we prepare for our maiden drill campaign in the first half of 2025.
Perpetual was granted an environmental exemption, allowing drilling activities to kick-off within the licence area, representing a critical milestone.
Local consultation will now be conducted over the coming periods as Perpetual has intent to have all projects drill ready ahead of its maiden drill program, scheduled for the first half of FY2025.
The program will aim to expand the mineralised footprint and consolidate drill targets.
