BPM Minerals has appointed exploration veteran Oliver Judd as new CEO to oversee the company’s WA gold and base metals’ hunt in 2023.

Judd has more than 15 years’ experience across several precious and base-metals projects, including as senior exploration manager with Talisman Mining (3 years), principal consulting geologist with OMNI GeoX (7 years), and exploration manager with Dreadnought Resources (1 year).

Judd held the position of exploration manager with BPM Minerals (ASX:BPM) for 2 years prior to being appointed as CEO.

“Oliver has been exploration manager at BPM for the past few years and has a vast range of exploration skills across precious and base metals which are key to the ongoing exploration success of the Company,” BPM chairman Paul Lloyd says.

“His appointment was a logical progression as the company seeks to further expand exploration activity across our portfolio of tenements.

“Oliver will be based in Perth, Western Australia, and myself and the rest of the Board look forward to working closely with him as he takes on the role of Chief Executive Officer.”

What’s next for BPM?

Multiple drill ready targets have been identified at the Claw project, where an extensive aircore (AC) drilling program will commence in Q2, 2023.

Claw is immediately along strike of Capricorn Metals’ (ASX:CMM) 2.75Moz Mt Gibson gold project.

“The Claw project represents a rare opportunity in Western Australia — 33km of largely untested strike across a highly prospective shear zone that hosts a multi-million-ounce gold deposit,” the company said earlier this month.

BPM is also set to announce further exploration and drilling programs in the coming months at its lead-zinc projects, located in WA’s Earaheedy Basin.

In April last year, Rumble Resources (ASX:RTR) gained 500% after hitting the zinc-lead motherlode at ‘Chinook’, part of its nearby Earaheedy project in WA.

BPM’s projects — Hawkins, Ivan Well and Rhodes – cover the same rock layer ‘target zone’ as Chinook, BPM says.

Importantly, the ground was pegged prior to the Rumble discovery, “delivering a first mover advantage with all surrounding ground now fully pegged”.
