‘Excellent, shallow gold results’ of up to 16m at 6.67 g/t from 20m, including 4m at 24.10 g/t have been unearthed at Meeka Gold’s Murchison Project, where a new shallow oxide lode striking out to the northwest resides.

For Meeka Gold (ASX:MEK), the result is exciting, as drill-hole 21TBRC014 demonstrates continuity of mineralisation beyond the current mineral resource and changes the interpretation of mineralisation at Turnberry Central.

These new assays – from reverse circulation (RC) pre-collar drilling as part of the ongoing exploration program – have been returned ahead of deeper diamond drilling and continue to deliver upside at Turnberry Central.

Exciting resource expansion

Although drilling targeted the deeper portions of the mineral resource, broad zones of gold mineralisation hit shallow depths between 17m and 85m vertically below surface.

MEK says at this point in time there is no drilling to the north of these intersections, meaning an exciting resource expansion opportunity has presented itself.

Other high-grade results at Turnberry Central include:

  • 21m at 2.28 g/t gold from 100m, including 4m at 5.14 g/t and;
  • 29m at 1.95 g/t from 32m, including 3m at 5.23 g/t and 6m at 4.06 g/t

Final assays at St Anne’s

Results from St Annes have also been received, with width and grade in line with previous hits reported in January such as 24m at 4.81 g/t from 68m, including 4m at 20.30 g/t.

The strike of this zone of mineralisation now extends for 100m within the broader 500m of mineralisation and remains open to the north and south.

Results include 20m at 1.01 g/t from 40m, including 1m at 4.08 g/t, 1m at 4.69 g/t, and 1m at 3.50 g/t.

The junior gold explorer believes the fertility of this mineral system and shear zone to host large gold deposits is supported by the 610,000-ounce Turnberry deposit, around 3.5km to the north of St Anne’s.

St Anne’s does not have a reported mineral resource, however further drilling is planned to kick off in late February.
