Special Report: Many Peaks Minerals has confirmed an extensive mineralised corridor at the Ferké Gold project in Côte d’Ivoire, West Africa, including intrusion material earmarked for immediate follow-up.
The company’s Ouarigue target is hosted in an intrusion ranging from granodiorite to tonalite in composition, which is a similar host setting to the multi-million-ounce Bankan and Bonikro deposits.
The plan is to develop bulk tonnage exploration targets along trend of the Ouarigue area, central to the >16km corridor of gold anomalism at Ferké.
So far, the results from shallow aircore drilling look the goods, having generated multiple priority targets on wide spacing for follow up RC drilling and ground geophysical survey work.
Results include:
- 15m at 0.72g/t gold from 9m, including 3m at 2.30g/t;
- 15m at 0.32g/t Au from 15m, including 3m at 0.93g/t at the end of hole;
- 7m at 0.63g/t Au at the end of hole, including 3m at 1.45g/t;
- 12m at 0.31g/t Au from surface;
- 6m at 0.59g/t Au from 12m; and
- 3m at 0.52g/t gold at the end of hole.
Many Peaks Minerals (ASX:MPK) is now undertaking reverse circulation drilling which has been revised to include follow up on the better aircore results.
The program will consist of 7,000m; with the first 45 RC drill holes completed totalling more than 5,200m of drilling pending analysis.
Drilling bulk tonnage targets
Simultaneously, diamond core drilling continues on extension targets for the rapidly growing mineralised zone at the Ouarigue prospect.
This includes 26 holes totalling more than 6,800m of drilling pending analysis.
“Results of aircore are above expectations, with extensive anomalism delivered from wide spaced, shallow drilling in what is a more shallowly weathered environment than anticipated,” managing director Travis Schwertfeger said.
“The broad zones of gold anomalism including intrusion material intersected on multiple lines of drilling indicate a strong mineralising system, as we vector towards the coincidence of favourable lithologic and structural settings to define additional bulk tonnage targets for systematic drilling.”
Additional assay results are expected in the next month.
