Drilling at Lefroy’s Burns Copper-Gold project within its Eastern Lefroy Gold project in WA has returned a solid gold intersect at Lake Randall. 

Targeted aircore, RC and diamond drilling at Burns this year established a broad footprint to the system that extends beneath Lake Randall.

And now results from the latest 80 RC hole program have flagged 103m at 1.65g/t gold from 25m, including 38m at 3.83g/t gold from 26m in Hole LRR003.

The company says drill hole LRR003 supports and confirms its structural interpretation of a high-grade south-plunging mineralised gold and copper shell that coincides with a north-south structural zone of at least 400m strike that is open in both directions across the shoreline of and into Lake Randall.

Fifty-one holes have now been completed, with the remaining 29 holes planned to be drilled before the end of December 2022 – and copper and multi element results are pending.

The company says this new result is the strongest gold mineralisation intersected to date since the ‘spectacular’ gold and copper interval in hole LEFR260 last year of 38m at 7.63g/t gold and 0.56% copper from 134m.

“The intersection in LRR003 is an outstanding result that will add significant value to the maiden Burns mineral resource estimate,” Lefroy Exploration (ASX:LEX) MD Wade Johnson said.

“LRR003 contains the strongest gold mineralisation intersected at Burns to date outside of the discovery hole LEFR260 and presents an opportunity to further expand the Burns system where mineralisation remains open to the north on Lake Randall.

“We’re very pleased with the progress of this drill program which places the company in a great position to deliver the Burns resource estimate in Q1/ 2023.”

In addition, final results for the diamond holes, LEFD006-009, completed at Burns Central and the Lovejoy prospects in the September Quarter, remain pending and are expected to be returned by the end of November 2022.
