Optimism is returning to the resources sector – and with it, strong interest in investor conferences.

After the recent successful Diggers & Dealers conference, focus now moves to Brisbane, where the Mining 2017 Resources Convention takes place August 29 and 30.

The convention has been running in Brisbane since 2002.

Mining 2017, which also incorporates the Australian Copper Conference, will present more than 40 resources-focused companies.

The event takes place at the Hilton Brisbane and is free to investors. (A delegate fee applies to industry participants).

Improved investor sentiment and the emergence of private equity in the resources sector will be the focus of the opening speaker, Queensland Resources Investment Commissioner Todd Harrington.

Sessions will cover a wide range of metals and minerals including copper (MOD Resources, Red Metal and AIM-listed Herencia), gold (Auroch Minerals, Middle Island Resources, Anglo Australian Resources, Excelsior Gold) and lithium (Lithium Australia).  Bauxite is also covered with Metallica Minerals, Australian Bauxite and Pacific Bauxite.

The conference will also hear from Mustang Resources MD Christiaan Jordan, who leads the world’s only listed ruby producer.
