Indiana has signed a key Native Title Mining Agreement that paves the way for exploration to begin at its Central Gawler Craton Gold Project in South Australia.

The agreement with the Antakirinja Matu-Yankunytjatjara Aboriginal Corporation covers 16 exploration licences that includes the majority of the Lake Labyrinth Shear Zone, which hosts several high priority targets including Ariadne, Partridge, Company Well, North Hicks and Minos.

Indiana Resources (ASX:IDA) plans to shortly start a program of diamond, reverse circulation and aircore drilling at Minos to follow-up on previous exploration.

The NMTA also allows the company to progress discussions with AMYAC to obtain the necessary heritage clearances to allow for additional exploration activities to take place across the shear zone.

Discussions are also progressing well with two additional native title groups for NTMAs to be signed across the remainder of Indiana’s tenement package.

“I would like to thank AMYAC for their support in executing the NTMA and look forward to working with them to undertake the required heritage clearances to facilitate exploration in this exciting mineral province,” executive chairman Bronwyn Barnes said.

“With over 30km of potential strike, the Lake Labyrinth Shear Zone has always been a major exploration focus for the company, and we look forward to building on our initial exploration success at Minos as we expand our exploration footprint within the Gawler Craton.”

Minos prospect

The company recently completed a program of 16 holes totalling 2,196m within the Lake Labyrinth Shear Zone to infill the existing drill pattern plus test the northwest and southeast strike extent of the known mineralised zone.

Previous drilling at Minos had returned results such as 16m grading 13.12 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from a depth of 37m within a broader 38m intersection at 6.54g/t gold from 29m and 5m at 24.35g/t gold from 106m including 2m at 59g/t gold from 106m.

Indiana now plans to carry out a 500m diamond program comprising three diamond tails extending existing RC pre-collars along with a 15-hole RV program totalling 2,000m to follow-up on recent drilling.

It also plans to carry out about 3,600m of aircore drilling along strike of Minos.
