Drilling at Critical’s highly prospective Gibsons prospect at Halls Peak has clocked further massive and semi-massive sulphide mineralisation.

Not only does Hole CRR21DD_07A (Hole 07A) intersection of 6.6m of visual mineralisation from a depth of 98m represent a previously untested, undrilled step-out area, it also highlights the potential depth potential of the Halls Peak system.

Most of the mineralisation was sphalerite dominant with lesser galena and minor chalcopyrite.

Earlier this month, Critical Resources (ASX:CRR) reported the deepest sulphide mineralisation intersected to date at the project in New South Wales with Hole 09 intersecting disseminated sulphides as deep as 141m downhole.

Assays for holes 11A, 02, 02A and 04 are currently pending at ALS laboratory in Brisbane and a further five holes will be carried out at Gibsons prior to the rig relocating to Sunnyside where the company has just received Ministerial approval for drilling.

“We are pleased that we continue to see massive sulphide mineralisation at Gibsons,” managing director Alex Biggs said.

“What really gets us excited is seeing strong mineralisation at depths across multiple holes, depths which have previously been untested.

“The Halls Peak system continues to provide us with excellent results, we look forward to continuing our drill program at Halls Peak and will continue to update the market in due course.”

Sunnyside drilling approval

Meanwhile, the company has received approval for 1,700m of diamond drilling at the Sunnyside prospect.

Holes at the prospect will test geophysical anomalies to a maximum depth of 700m to expand the overall potential of the Halls Peak system.

Biggs noted that the pending final Resource Regulator approval will allow Critical to test the greater extent of the Halls Peak system.

“Once the current drill program has been completed at Gibsons, DRC Drilling will move to the Sunnyside prospect to drill previously untested geophysical anomalies.”

The Sunnyside targets were developed through reinterpretation and analysis of data collected in a 2012 Versatile Time Domain Electromagnetic survey.
