Great Boulder Resources has welcomed experienced commercial and operations executive Karen O’Neill to the board as non-executive director.

O’Neill is an experienced governance and finance professional with extensive operational and executive experience in the resources sector, most recently as MD of Kingrose Mining and CEO of Koonenberry Gold.

The company says her skills will complement the current board and strengthen the management team as it advances its Side Well Gold Project in WA.

Adds commercial and regulatory knowledge

Great Boulder (ASX:GBR) MD Andrew Paterson said O’Neill’s skills and experience add strength and diversity to the company’s corporate decision-making and governance processes.

“While Great Boulder has always benefited from having a strong technical board of experienced geologists, we’ve been looking for an ideal candidate to contribute additional skills, knowledge and experience to the boardroom, particularly from a commercial and regulatory perspective,” he said.

“Karen is an ideal fit in that regard and I’m very pleased to have her on our team.”

Exploration backed by $7m cap raise

The move comes as the company last week raised $7m to drive exploration at the Mulga Bill prospect at Side Well – and that came just days after it reported visible gold in diamond core.

The funds will be used for high impact exploration and drilling campaigns at the Side Well project, along with a maiden exploration program at the Wellington Base Metal Project in the Earaheedy Basin and drilling at the Whiteheads gold project.

Great Boulder expects to recommence its 5,000m RC drilling program this week, with continuous drilling planned at Mulga Bill once the company collates the diamond data into its drill planning model.
