• Golden Mile Resources reports more high grades at Pearl copper project
  • Visible mineralisation spied at Ford prospect
  • Project in USA’s top copper producing state of Arizona

Special Report: Golden Mile Resources has reported more encouraging results within its Pearl copper project in Arizona, this time visible copper mineralisation at the Ford prospect.

The Pearl project is in the world-class Laramide porphyry copper province, within the prolific Southwestern North American porphyry copper province – the principal copper metallogenic province of the USA, which accounted for approximately 70% of the country’s total copper production in 2023.

The company says Portable X-Ray Fluorescent (pXRF) results from preliminary field mapping at the Ford prospect have highlighted an 8m-wide fault zone at surface hosting visible copper mineralisation, along with polymetallic results including:

  • Copper values up to 13.4%
  • Lead values up to 1.29%; and
  • Zinc values up to 7.22%.

While pXRF results are no substitute for lab assays, the company is encouraged by the visible mineralisation at Ford.

The project is certainly shaping up as a polymetallic play, with this news coming just days after the company reported exceptional rock chip assays up to 930g/t silver, 10.05% copper, and 8.09% zinc at first pass sampling at the Odyssey prospect.

pXRF backs up historic data

The historical Tiger mining area at Pearl includes the Ford mine and has been identified as a high-ranking target for further detailed work.

While ore production is unknown, high grades up to 31.3% lead, 10.6% copper and 16.7g/t gold were reported from lead-silver veins and surface and underground sampling.

The area will now undergo detailed lithological and structural mapping, followed by systematic rock-chip and channel sampling ahead of the company’s planned drilling program aimed at unlocking the full potential of the Ford prospect.

“These exceptional preliminary results underscore the high-grade potential and polymetallic nature of the Ford prospect,” managing director Damon Dormer said.

“The pXRF readings are consistent with historical data, further strengthening our confidence in the project’s exploration potential.

“We look forward to advancing Ford as a key drill target alongside the Odyssey prospect”

The company is now advancing its maiden drilling program and is currently working through the government approval process for the associated land clearing permits.
