Prospectors have dug up 8 ounces of gold nuggets from White Cliff Minerals’ early-stage Merolia Project, near Laverton in WA.

That’s worth about $15,300 at today’s Australian gold price of $1909/oz.

Not bad for a day’s (or week’s) work:

A total of 40oz of gold has been recovered by other prospectors along a 3km trend at Merolia — the largest of these nuggets weighed 20 grams.

These nugget discoveries and associated gold in soil anomalies highlight the prospectivity of the two Comet gold trends, White Cliff says. The company will look to conduct further regolith surveys over the prospective areas prior to considering drilling.
