Gold and lithium potential has been confirmed lurking beneath the Braham Project, with broad, coherent, and low order multi element pathfinder geochemical anomalism reported by New Age Exploration.

Braham is around 20 to 30km north of De Grey’s (ASX:DEG) Mallina Gold Project, comprising the 6.8Moz Hemi gold deposit in Western Australia’s central Pilbara region.

It is here that results from the first 13 holes totalling 1,500m of an overall 5,000m drilling RC drilling program have been received, targeting ‘hemi-style’ intrusive related and structural gold targets.

Gold results include 20m at 2.3ppb gold, 3.1ppm arsenic from 8m and 4m at 104ppb gold and 4.6ppm arsenic from 108m in hole 21BRC0006 while 21BRC0008 intersected 40m at 5.55ppb gold, 11.7ppm arsenic from 36m.

New Age Exploration (ASX:NAE) also hit significant lithium from several drill holes including 56m at 137.5ppm lithium, 20.7ppm cesium, 2ppm beryllium and 69ppm rubidium in hole 21BRC0008.

A result of 40m at 111.4ppm lithium and 1.8ppm cesium was also returned in hole 21BRC0012.

Looking good for large-scale gold

NAE executive director Joshua Wellisch said the primary objective was to confirm prospective basement rocks and structures beneath shallow cover.

“This has been achieved, we are very encouraged with the results at this early stage of our exploration effort given the wide spacing of our reconnaissance drilling to date,” he says.

“Our approach has been justified and even though we have just commenced, several holes have returned results indicative of large-scale gold systems including coincident gold-arsenic anomalism, which is the main geochemical signature at Hemi.

“The results received to date confirm our belief that our Central Pilbara Project has the potential to host significant gold and lithium mineral deposits.”

Advancing gold and lithium opportunities in unison

Given that New Age has now also confirmed a lithium opportunity in addition to gold, Wellisch added the company’s immediate strategy will be to advance both gold and lithium targeting.

Regional and prospect scale geochemical soil surveys are underway to fast-track prioritising both gold and lithium targets across NAE’s extensive Central Pilbara Project tenure.

Ongoing target generation, refinement and prioritisation will be underpinned by results obtained from the current phase of exploration activity, including these surface geochemical surveys and continued assessment of all available airborne and ground geophysical data.

Follow up drill testing of priority targets is planned to commence in Q3/4 2022.
