The G’Day Eh podcast bridges the Pacific focusing on the two countries where most mining exploration companies are listed, Australia and Canada.

The world depends on discoveries by exploration companies in these countries to achieve the energy transition targets and maintain or grow production of other metals.  Their role is critical, and these are their stories.

In this episode, Pete sits down with David Southam, managing director at Cygnus Metals (ASX:CY5).

Cygnus Metals is a diversified critical minerals explorer with key assets located in Tier 1 mining jurisdictions including Quebec, Canada and Western Australia. Cygnus is actively exploring both jurisdictions with tenure prospective for lithium as well as gold, nickel, copper and platinum group elements.

The company’s maiden CAD$2m payment for the Pontax project earn-in will be settled in shares, leaving it well funded for upcoming drilling. CY5 can earn up to 70% of Pentax in James Bay, where it remains on track to release a maiden resource in late July/early August.

The star-studded explorer reported high grade assays from its Pontax project in the James Bay region of Quebec this year, and also picked up the secondary Auclair project in a move that saw Canada’s Osisko lift its stake.
