Fast East has identified several viable drill targets at two areas at its Woyla copper-gold project in Indonesia’s Aceh Province. Drill rig mobilised to site.

The first stage of the company’s induced polarisation survey carried out in collaboration with the Geological Agency of the Indonesian Government’s Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources confirmed the targets at both the Anak Perak North Zone and the Anak Perak Main Zone.

Importantly for Far East Gold (ASX:FEG), the result gives the company optionality on where it will start drilling for the first time in the project’s history.

While Woyla was previously explored by major companies such as Barrick Gold and Newcrest, no approvals for drilling were granted until the company took over the project.

This was despite historical exploration returning results of up to 119 grams per tonne (g/t) gold and 1,179g/t silver within epithermal vein systems.

IP surveying still underway

Woyla includes three porphyry anomalies and four epithermal gold prospect areas that have a combined defined strike length of over 13km.

IP survey works are focused on the Anak Perak prospect area, which comprises an epithermal vein system over a 4.7km strike that returned the top results noted above.

Initial results have clearly defined the extent of the Anak Perak Main Zone vein, which are consistent with previous mapping on surface.

The results also suggest the presence of a second vein that occurs as an offshoot from the main vein zone while confirming that both Anak Perak North Zone and the Anak Perak Main Zone are robust targets for the initial diamond drill program. Drill rigs mobilised to Anak Perak North Zone

Notably, the Anak Perak North Zone is located on non-forest designated land and the company is able to commence drilling in that location without an Izin Persetujuan Penggunaan Kawasan Hutan (IPPKH) “borrow-use” licence for drilling on forest designated land.

An IPPKH which will allow for drilling is currently progressing to plan for the Anak Perak Main Zone.

To date, three of the planned 17 survey lines over the Anak Perak Main Zone have been completed and the three lines planned for the Anak Perak North Zone have been completed.

While the current survey covers 3,200m of the 4,700m Anak Perak vein strike, the research collaboration with Badan Geologi includes the option to expand survey coverage over its entire length.
