61 lithium companies showed red today – albeit mostly not by much, 62 stayed flat, and just 25 found themselves on the greener side of the fence.
WHO’S GOT NEWS OUT?
Here’s a selection of news out from lithium plays today.
Power Minerals (ASX:PNN)
The PNN share price surged today letting the market know it’s all about brine.
The lithium-focused explorer is planting its flag in the lithium hot spot of Argentina after offloading its non-core Santa Ines copper-gold project for $1.5m.
In a deal with Canadian-listed Ultra Lithium, PNN will acquire Ultra’s extensive Laguna Verde brine project for up to 50 million in shares at a current market value of $23.5m.
The Ultra CEO Weiguo Lang – who, with Chinese-based Zangge Mining, had recently pledged US$290m to develop the mine before a deal fell through due to a Canadian government ban on Chinese investment, will become PNN’s CEO of Argentina Operations and report to the PNN board.
Odessa Minerals (ASX:ODE)
More Yinnetharra nearology action as Odessa announces a rare earth and outcropping pegmatite discovery at the Lockier Range project in the Gascoyne region of WA.
Rock chip sampling returned 7 samples >1000ppm total REEs which contain between 14 and 26% of critical REO. Lithium sampling results are pending.
Lockier Range is ~25km from Delta Lithium’s Yinnetharra lithium pegmatite discovery, ~40km from Voltaic Strategic Resources’ pegmatite discovery and ~60-70km from Hastings Technologies’ REE project.
An early 28% surge in share price has obviously got investors salivating, however a sell-off took matters back to parity by end of trading.
Lord Resources (ASX:LRD)
Executive director Barnaby Egerton-Warburton has just positioned himself as a substantial holder in his own company after conversion of performance rights.
This comes off an 11 May announcement that Lord had completed the purchase of the Jingjing lithium project in WA’s Eastern Goldfields.
With almost 2 million shares and nearly 7% voting power, Edgerton-Warburton is putting his money where his mouth is after directing his company to complete the Jingjing purchase with a $110,000 cash payment and an issuance of 900,000 fully paid shares to the vendor Amery Holdings.
