Kula Gold (ASX:KGD)

We covered this one in a Stockhead special report earlier today, but, the news in brief is…

KGD is surging today on news it’s launching a maiden drill program at Cobra, a juicy 3km-long lithium target near the world’s largest lithium mine in southwest WA.

Kula’s underexplored Kirup tenements are right next door to the Greenbushes mine, owned in a JV between US-based Albemarle and Chinese miner Tianqi Lithium.

Atlantic Lithium (ASX:A11)

Dual-listed Atlantic Lithium has had a big coupla days.

It’s up after rejecting a 33 pence a share offer from its major shareholder Assore International Holdings to buy up the company looking to deliver Ewoyaa, Ghana’s first lithium mine.

As Josh wrote in Resources Top 5 today:

That’s 63c a share in Australian terms, well above Atlantic’s current share price of 49c but far below its 52-week high of 93c. It’s the latest M&A play in the lithium sector, which until now has largely focused on Australian assets in WA’s world-leading Pilbara and Goldfields spodumene districts.

But Ewoyaa has emerged as a prize for a bargain-hunting buyer after Atlantic had its mining lease granted last month for the project, that is set to be owned 50-50 between it and US lithium refining hopeful Piedmont Lithium (ASX:PLL).

According to a DFS in June the mine would produce some 3.6Mt of spodumene concentrate over a 12-year life, delivering US$316m in EBITDA annually with a 19-month payback on its US$185m capex.

 

 

Allkem (ASX:AKE)

This hot, stonking $5.8bn market-capped lithium miner rallied 5% today after confirming that it has received Australian Foreign Investment Review Board approval for the proposed $16 billion merger with American chemical manufacturing giant Livent.

Allkem and Livent are targeting closing of the transaction on January 4 2024.

James Bay Minerals (ASX:JBY)

JBY has announced further elevated lithium readings using LIBS detectors identified at the prospective Aero property within its flagship La Grande project in Canada.

Green Technology Metals (ASX:GT1) says dense media separation test work confirms the ability to achieve up to 6.8% Li2O concentrate and 71.6% recovery rates from its Seymour lithium project in Ontario.

Prospect Resources (ASX:PSC) says soil sampling outlines lithium pegmatite pathfinder signatures in new areas at its Omaruru project in central Namibia.

Leeuwin Metals (ASX:LM1) says a further three holes have returned significant widths of high-grade lithium mineralisation at the Cross Lake project in Manitoba, Canada, confirming the project as an emerging lithium opportunity.

Magnis Energy Technologies (ASX:MNS) says it has secured control of the board of its subsidiary iM3NY with the appointment of Giles Gunesekera as its third director and Wade Guindy as interim chief executive officer.
