Fresh off an expert’s promising report on the prospectivity of its Oracle Ridge copper mine, Eagle Mountain Mining has struck chunky widths of visible copper mineralisation.

Located in Arizona, Oracle Ridge already has a JORC resource of non-JORC resource of 12.2Mt at 1.51% copper, 16.3g/t  silver, 0.19g/t gold for 184kt copper, 6.4Moz silver and 73,000oz gold.

Following on from world-renowned skarn expert Lawrence Meinert’s review, it has enhanced prospects at its renamed ‘Talon zone’ in the southern area of Oracle Ridge.

And with a new name has come a brighter new outlook.

Since the rebrand, Eagle Mountain (ASX:EM2) have been attacking their target with the ferocity of their namesake avian taking on its natural enemy, the drone.

Recent drilling there has returned visible copper mineralisation, including 20m of bornite, chalcocite and chalcopyrite rich material in hole WT-21-15.

Assays are currently pending for WT-21-15, as well as for hole WT-21-12, which contained 6m of bornite and chalcopyrite mineralisation.

On top of that there are promising gold results, from the north end of Talon including:

  • 4.84g/t Au, 127g/t Ag and 2.85% Cu over 2.1m (WT-21-09)
  • 1.98g/t Au, 66.74g/t Ag and 5.2% Cu over 8.7m (reported WT-21-06)
  • 0.94g/t Au, 52.6g/t Ag and 2.43% Cu over 12.3m (reported WT 20-10)

Future drilling to focus on new zones

Eagle Mountain CEO Tim Mason noted the importance of finding mineralisation and results in new areas of Oracle Ridge, which is showing fresh potential despite producing copper on and off from the 1930s to the 1990s.

“Following the recent positive report by Dr Larry Meinert, the prospectivity of the southern zone, renamed ‘The Talon’ zone, is enhanced and is a key priority for our future drilling,” he said.

“The latest set of drill results indicates there is increasing prospectivity to the south and west of our recent drilling.

“This conclusion aligns with Dr Meinert’s findings and presents an exciting opportunity for future exploration and drilling activities. We are seeing good gold and silver values along with copper in several of the holes drilled in the northern and western side of The Talon zone.

“Pleasingly, two step-out holes on the western and southern extent of The Talon have intersected bornite and chalcocite rich mineralisation, both of which have very high copper content minerals of 63.3% and 79.8% Cu, respectively.”

Eagle Mountain only recently received access to the southern and western parts of the Talon zone after access roads and drill pads were set up.

It is aiming to continue drilling in the promising southern area over the coming months.
