DY6 Metals expands rutile soil sampling over new licences ahead of drilling program in Cameroon

- Regional soil sampling program expanded to cover total project area of 8,782 km2
- 255 samples collected of 1,048 planned across high-grade rutile zones
- Auger drilling samples enroute to the laboratory for assay, expected in 5-6 weeks
Special Report: DY6 Metals has expanded a regional soil sampling program over its Central rutile project in Cameroon to include the newly acquired Yaoundé West licences, adding 2,888km2 to the total survey area.
DY6 Metals’ (ASX:DY6) CEO Cliff Fitzhenry said the company’s exploration activities at the Central rutile (natural titanium) project were rapidly advancing, positioning the company to systemically target areas of higher rutile grades ahead of a maiden drilling program.
“We are encouraged by the successful completion of our reconnaissance auger drilling at Nsimbo and Alamba, with samples already dispatched to South Africa and results expected in the coming month,” he said.
“At the same time, we are making excellent progress on the ground in Cameroon –establishing a dedicated mineral sands laboratory, securing new heavy-duty drilling equipment, and expanding our local team with key hires.
“These milestones mark an exciting phase for DY6 as we build the foundations for a transformative maiden drilling campaign that will unlock the full potential of what we believe is a world-class rutile province.”

Auger sampling program
DY6 Metals has also dispatched 24 auger hole samples from the Nsimbo and Alamba prospects to the laboratory for analysis, with results expected in five to six weeks.
The auger holes were drilled along the northern edge of the licences, next to high-grade results reported by Lion Rock Minerals (ASX:LRM).
Lion Rock reported high-grade residual results from its Afanloum licence grading up to seven metres at 5.1% heavy minerals from surface, as well as 7m at 4.5% HM and 4.7m at 5.2% HM, also from surface.
Watch: DY6’s expansion into a world class rutile collection
While the company awaits the auger results, DY6 has collected 255 of 1,048 planned soil samples, targeting high-grade rutile zones across the total project tenure of 8,782 km2.
DY6 Metals has also secured a new warehouse to contain its new heavy mineral sands laboratory. Meanwhile tungsten carbide-reinforced auger drilling equipment is currently en route to Cameroon for the next round of auger drilling.
