Victory Goldfields (ASX:1VG) non-executive director and co-founder Brendan Clark is set to take a more active role in the company as its executive director.

Clark – who first made his success in the WA property sector – is the chief executive officer and co-founder of several Zambian based mining development and exploration companies.

These have covered a range of projects from reprocessing of high-grade Copper and Cobalt tailings to large scale exploration for base and precious metals.

He also runs his charity Health Hope Zambia which is developed the country’s largest malnutrition hospital with the assistance of his charity ambassador the legendary Kiss co-lead singer Gene Simmons.

“Being one of the founders of the company and part of the Victory team since listing, it’s exciting to be provided with the opportunity to continue the implementation of Victory’s strategy of actively exploring the company’s portfolio of gold projects in the Cue goldfields region,” Clark said.

“In addition to the previously announced Coodardy mineral resource estimate work commencing in the near future, the Company will soon advise on the next phase of exploration drilling to be undertaken on a number of its projects.

“Victory has a strong bank balance to complete its upcoming planned exploration programs and has made the required cost saving measures to ensure minimal disruptions to its day to day operations whilst being able to explore such opportunities.”

Clark also thanked current executive chairman Trevor Matthews, who is taking a step back to become the company’s non-executive chairman, saying that his contributions were vital for the company to achieve its maiden resource.
