Arrow Minerals has locked onto what could be a major untested gold system at the Kordie prospect at its Vranso gold project in Burkina Faso.

Located in a greenfields area which has never before been systematically tested with modern gold exploration, a soil sampling project across February and March has identified two significant gold anomalies at Kordie.

They include a main southern zone extending 2km with a northeast orientation with assay results consistently above 80ppb gold.

A second lower level anomaly identified by Arrow (ASX:AMD) extends for about 5km in a north-south direction defined by results above 20ppb gold.

Those point to what could be a major mineralized gold system.

Follow sampling has already begun, building on the initial soil geochemical sampling program conducted on 800m space lines with 50m centres, in which 1267 sites were sampled and tested at ALS labs in Ouagadougou.

Once infill and extensional soil sampling is done and the full extent of the gold anomalism is defined Arrow is planning to roll out the drill rigs to test for primary gold mineralization.

A bevy of targets

Kordie is just the latest of a string of high quality gold targets Arrow has outlined at its Vranso project.

The recent sampling program came after a previously unknown 50km2 gold system was identified in stream sediment sampling from a drainage system in the north of the Vranso project.

Five new gold targets were also identified recently in the 10km long Sanguie-Semapoun Corridor to the south.

Drilling on existing targets has continued to deliver the goods, with Arrow hitting strong gold interceptions in recent RC drilling at its Guido, Semapoun and Dassa prospects, the last of which now has a gold bearing system delineated to 1km in length.

Arrow’s underexplored Vranso project is located among some of Africa’s largest gold mines on underexplored tenements just 100km west of Ouagadougou in Burkina’s rich Birimian Greenstone Belt.
