• C29 has received category four exploration works approval for its newly granted tenements. Category four enables all geological work programs excluding drilling.
  • The company plans to begin airborne geophysical and geological programs
  • Mobilisation for initial diamond drilling program by the end of the week

Special report: C29 Metals is due to start exploration on its newly granted southern and northern tenements at Ulytau in Kazakhstan after receiving category four approval and strong local support.

This clears the path for activities such as geophysical works, field mapping and soil sampling programs to take place on the newly granted prospective Uranium tenements.

C29 Metals’ (ASX:C29) geology team is already established on site with the impending initial diamond drilling program commencing shortly at Ulytau (#1860-EL) and will simultaneously start airborne geophysics programs on Ulytau and the southern tenement.

Category 4 approval has been granted in rapid time and demonstrates the efficiency of the Kazakhstan regulators and the respected relationship that C29 Metals has established at all levels of government and regulators.

C29 expects the drilling contractor will begin mobilisation to site for the initial diamond drilling program at the Ulytau tenement by the end of this week.

Boots On Ground

“It is very exciting to have the category four exploration approval granted enabling our geology team to immediately commence both boots on ground and airborne field works,” said C29 managing director Shannon Green.

“This once again demonstrates the positive operating environment in Kazakhstan and the support the company is enjoying”.

Exploration activities on the company’s northern tenement (#2826-EL) are scheduled for Q1 of CY2025.

Best In Class

C29 recently entered into an MoU with Volkov Geology, a 100% owned subsidiary of Kazakhstan’s only uranium producer Kazatomprom, for the provision of oversight and technical geological services for upcoming uranium drilling at Ulytau.

Volkov is a wholly owned by Kazatomprom, the world’s largest uranium producer and a company with 4500 employees and 75 years’ experience in uranium exploration and mining.

An independent drilling contractor is being appointed and C29 anticipates that Volkov’s scope of works will expand from oversight and technical geological services to include studies, geological modelling and resource estimation.
