Burley’s exploration team is excited by the early positive indications at the Chubb lithium project with results from maiden drilling expanding mineralisation beyond prior exploration.
The Chubb lithium project’s maiden drilling program kicked off on April 5, completing 11 diamond core holes over the last month.
Initial visual estimates from this program have confirmed the presence and persistence of spodumene-bearing pegmatites within two mineralised zones at the Chubb Central prospect, substantially building on drilling results from the 2017-2022 drilling campaigns by earlier project holders.
Burley Minerals (ASX:BUR) says the ‘Main’ dyke has consistently returned spodumene-pegmatites with down-hole intersections ranging between 4 and 12m widths as drilling continues to test for mineralised extensions.
Initial assays are expected in three to four weeks.
“Receiving such highly encouraging signs in such a short period of time is a fantastic achievement for our team and testament to their exploration skill,” BUR managing director Wayne Richards says.
“Of particular interest is hole CLP010 which intersected 12.27 metres of spodumene-bearing pegmatite downhole, confirming mineralisation, which is of a good thickness, and is open at depth and along strike to the south.
“Burley is also finalising the acquisition of the Bouvier Lithium Project, which is located 14 kilometres to the northwest of the Chubb project.
“Company geologists are currently planning and permitting the inaugural drilling program, which will commence when this is complete,” Richards explains.
The Chubb Central drill programme is ongoing and assay results are due with 3 to 4 weeks.
Now that the snow has melted, the exploration team has commenced geological and geochemical mapping programs over the Chubb North area, where numerous pegmatites have been previously identified.
