Special Report: With two rigs on site, drilling contractor Conosur Drilling S.A. will be ready to begin operations next week once the first drill pad at Belararox’s Malambo copper porphyry target is completed.
Civic contractor Brig S.R.L is finalising the access road, which is in line with the Mines Department safety requirements and Belararox’s (ASX:BRX) closely monitored safety standards.
The access road has been inspected by Conosur and determined fit for carrying its drilling equipment.
Brig will mobilise a second dozer to site later this week, allowing work to continue on two fronts. The first dozer will complete drill pad one at Malambo to allow drilling to begin, and then continue the development of the remaining three Malambo drill pads.
The second dozer will progress the road access to the north to ensure that drilling can begin on the two Tambo South target holes in January 2025.
A second drill rig will mobilise in the coming weeks, with all associated equipment in place and ready for drilling operations as soon as the drill pads and access road are complete.
“We are very pleased with the significant progress at the TMT site, with access to Malambo drill pad 1 nearing completion and the first drill rig ready to commence operations,” TMT exploration director Jason Ward said.
“The team’s focus on safety, quality and efficiency has been outstanding and the early mobilisation of the second rig highlights our commitment to delivering the exploration program on schedule.
“These milestones position us strongly to achieve our goal of completing the 2024/2025 drilling program safely and efficiently by April next year.”
The 6000m program at Malambo and Tambo South is set for completion by April 2025, with drilling to first start at Malambo where 3400m of diamond core drilling will be undertaken across three drill holes.
These holes will target below outcropping potassic alteration and continue to 1000m to 1200m to test the 3D geochemical anomalies at depth.
Tambo South, the second high-priority drill target for testing, has 2600m of diamond drilling planned in two drill holes.
Those are planned to a depth of 1200 to 1400m, targeting below the quartz veins and surface molybdenum anomaly and into the 3D geochemical model.
