Belararox’s geological mapping has further highlighted the prospectivity of its Bullabulling project in Western Australia’s Goldfields region with the identification of 14 potential lithium-caesium-tantalum occurrences.

The pegmatites are associated with mafic metamorphic rocks adjacent to the Bali Monzogranite and follows on recent drone aerial imagery identifying several potential LCT pegmatite targets.

Belararox (ASX:BRX) notes that this work parallels the success of BMG Resources’ drilling at its nearby Ubini and Purple Panda prospects that identified multiple pegmatite occurrences in the same structural corridor adjacent to the Bali Monzonite and other potential pegmatite source rocks.

“The successful mapping campaign further highlights the lithium prospectivity of the project and the company is excited to have identified several potential LCT pegmatites,” managing director Arvind Misra said.

“These will be the focus of exploration efforts in the immediate future.”

Bullabulling project

Bullabulling comprises 26 tenements covering 50km2 to the west of Coolgardie in the Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia.

There has been no lack of lithium exploration successes in the region with Future Battery Minerals (ASX:FBM) making a 29m intercept grading 1.36% Li2O from 38m down-hole at the Kangaroo Hill project while BMG’s drilling intersected 28m of pegmatite at its Ubini prospect and a coincident rubidium anomaly in soils at Purple Panda.

Notably, these results are all located in close proximity to Belararox’s tenements within the same structural trend and are considered analogous to the pegmatites identified in the company’s recent geological mapping.

With the completion of geological mapping, the company has now identified and sampled 14 separate in-situ, and 19 subcropping pegmatites.

Proposed exploration

The company’s planned exploration for lithium and gold at Bullabulling will include the appraisal of pegmatite rock chip assays with results due in the coming weeks and finalise the priority of targets.

The highest priority targets identified will then be grid soil sampled, then analysed by a certified laboratory for LCT pathfinder elements and gold.

Belararox has adopted the approach of using rubidium values in soil as an effective LCT pathfinder to delineate the extent of any LCT pegmatites.

This is the same approach used by BMG at Ubini and Purple Panda.
