Battery Age Minerals has start its baseline fieldwork program at the Falcon Lake lithium project in Canada, engaging Wabadowgang Noopming Management to carry out terrestrial and fisheries field programs.

The objective of the baseline fieldwork is to provide a comprehensive overview of the environmental conditions at the project which will support environmental assessments and environmental permitting.

It will help to identify and assess potential impacts from the company’s proposed activities and ensure responsible environmental management throughout the project’s lifecycle.

The company has installed Audio Recording Units (ARUs) on site to capture the birdsong of migratory birds during their mating period – which only occurs once a year – with the data collected expected to inform decision-making.

Battery Age Minerals (ASX:BM8) says it’s important to complete this work within the short window of the mating period to minimise disturbance to the migratory birds and comply with environmental regulations.

Comprehensive data to back drilling program

BM8 is committed to adhering to best practices in environmental stewardship and ensuring the preservation of the natural ecosystems surrounding Falcon Lake.

“We are pleased to have commenced baseline survey work at Falcon Lake. It is imperative that we gather baseline data at the earliest opportunity to provide us with comprehensive data moving forward,” CEO Gerard O’Donovan said.

“Doing this in parallel with our maiden drilling campaign will allow us to commence critical path activities while enhancing our understanding of the extent of the mineralisation at Falcon Lake.”

To date, maiden drilling has intersected spodumene-bearing pegmatites in 10 out of the 13 diamond holes drilled which highlights potential for significant mineralisation at the project.

Assays are pending, with the plan now to continue drilling in this area in the near term before moving to the other 18 spodumene-bearing pegmatite outcrops already identified across the property.
