Austin Metals starts turning the soil at flagship gold project

Air core drilling has kicked off across high priority gravity targets at the Austin Gold Project, following up previously discovered gold at the Everlong, Overdrive and Generator prospects.
The highly anticipated 7,000m drilling program marks Austin’s (ASX:AYT) most extensive exploration program yet after the company discovered gold and quartz veining in areas across the project.
AYT will now upscale efforts by targeting the gold discovered at the Everlong, Overdrive and Generator prospects, along with another seven high priority targets identified.
Results from the program are expected in two to three weeks.
Early visual signs of quartz veins
AYT technical director Leo Horn says given the success of previous air core drilling, the company is committed to continuing our proven exploration strategy.
“All three prospects warrant follow up drilling and multiple other gravity targets have been identified so we now begin the process of systematically exploring each one,” he says.
“We are delighted to see early visual signs of quartz veins at two prospects and excited for the rest of the program.”
