Aldoro is all set to start Phase 1 drilling at the VC-1 and VC-11 targets at its flagship Narndee project in WA after completing all access track and pad clearing work.

Mobilisation costs were reduced as this work was carried out using a front-end loader owned by the station owner at Narndee.

Further savings were achieved as accommodation, office space, catering, and communications are also available at the homestead, which eliminated the need to construct an exploration camp.

Adding interest, field reconnaissance and mapping has also identified several areas for follow-up work including two nickel-copper gossans and evidence of historical activity that has yet to be captured in digital format.

Aldoro Resources (ASX:ARN) also noted that a moving loop transient electromagnetic survey to refine modelling of the highest priority exploration targets within the Narndee Igneous Complex (NIC) is nearing completion.

To top it off, field reconnaissance on the northern landholding has confirmed the presence of northeast striking, shallow northwest dipping lithium-caesium-tantalum bearing pegmatites that outcrop over a strike extent of more than 500m.

Drill targets and exploration results

The VC-1 target is confirmed to be located in a highly prospective geological setting for magmatic nickel-copper sulphides, close to a mafic-ultramafic contact.

Drill holes at the target will test a modelled conductor that features favourable geological position, anomalous geochemistry and proximity to historical drilling that demonstrated a strong nickel-copper sulphide geochemical signature.

VC-11 is a more subtle conductor with limited geophysical and geological support though Aldoro believes it is still a robust greenfields target that warrants drill testing.

The company adds that of the two surface outcropping gossans, Gossan 2 is about 1,000m south-southwest of VC-1 and is interpreted to be in the up-plunge position of VC-1.

Further exploration will be required to determine if it represents the weathered surface expression of VC-1, or a separate weathered nickel occurrence on the same trend.

Aldoro will also complete systematic rock chip and soils sampling programs and detailed mapping over the pegmatite swarm as soon as possible to identify the most prospective zones for drill targeting.
